Trever Blackburn:
College Credit Plus
On May 17, Trever Blackburn, 18, will earn both his high school diploma from Keystone High School, and his associate of arts from Lorain County Community College. Blackburn, a three-sport athlete and honor roll student, chose College Credit Plus to get a head start on his future.
Here's what he said about his experience at LCCC and his future plans.
Why did you choose LCCC?
I chose LCCC because they have amazing resources, and the staff at Keystone High School could not have been more welcoming and fun to be around.
What are your future plans?
I plan to attend The Ohio State University and major in international business with a minor in Spanish, as well as doing ROTC so I can serve my country.
How has LCCC helped you meet your goals?
LCCC has been the biggest stepping stone for me by allowing me to graduate college while in high school, giving me the time to focus on more specific classes and my future career.
What barriers did you overcome to earn your degree?
I had to overcome time management skills, learning how to balance 30 credits on top of sports and extracurriculars.
How did LCCC help you unlock opportunities?
LCCC allowed me to unlock opportunities by giving me the resources to do anything I want/need to take the next step in life.
